Smart city: Road flow management

Résumé

Traffic signal systems play an important role in traffic management. The efficient organization of road networks can facilitate travel with all its posi- tive economic impacts. Conventional traffic signal control systems often fall short of providing effective urban traffic management, especially in terms of tra- vel and waiting times. Good mobility and traffic management are necessary in the development of smart cities, and conversely, the smart city will be a vector for the development of intelligent management of traffic and mobility. The main objective of our work is to propose a new solution for road traffic management through the dynamic management of intelligent traffic lights. Our solution reduces the waiting time of drivers, as well as the traffic congestion and users travel time by optimizing the time interval of the traffic signal depen- ding only on the number of vehicles on the road and ensuring road safety by reducing accidents, stress, and energy consumption.
