From Siderophores to Molecular Switches via Biomimetic Ligands
Résumé
A strategy of synthesis of tripodal trishydroxamate compounds1 was adopted in order to mimic ferrichrome, the siderophore excreted by Ustilago sphaerogena. Based on the biomimetic alanine derivate, fluorescent biosensors were developed. An extension of the arms of the tripodal structure led to homoditopic and heteroditopic ligands which were respectively able to form diferric helicates4 and Fe(III)/Fe(II) molecular switches.
